SYDNEY MARATHON

The Sydney Marathon held in September each year, is one of the world’s most scenic running events. The Sydney Marathon is the only mass participation event from the 2000 Sydney Olympics that remains today with parts of the course still following the ‘blue line’’ painted on the road for the Olympics.
The route takes in Sydney’s most spectacular and iconic landmarks and provides all runners the experience of crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge traffic free, before crossing the finish line surrounded by the sails of the Sydney Opera House.
Abbot World Marathon Majors
In 2022, the Sydney Marathon was announced as an “Abbott World Marathon Major” (AWMM) candidate race. The Abbott World Marathon Majors currently consists of a series of 6 of the largest, most prestigious and oversubscribed marathons in the world. The current Majors are Tokyo, John Hancock Boston, TCS London, BMW-BERLIN, Bank of America Chicago and TCS New York Marathons.

- Spring-time is the perfect time to visit Sydney, with attractive average temperatures for running and relaxation.
- The Sydney Marathon was awarded a Platinum label by World Athletics recognising it as one of the best organised marathons in the world.
- The Sydney Marathon has several shorter runs taking place on event day that provide a run or walk experience for any accompanying travellers.
- All shorter run provide a rare opportunity for runners and walkers to cross the Sydney Harbour bridge – traffic free, and finish in the Royal Botanic Gardens.
- Fantastic course entertainment to keep runners’ spirits lifted through the 42km distance.

DAY 1: THURSDAY 12 SEPTEMBER - ARRIVE IN SYDNEY
Welcome to Sydney! Make your way (on your own) from the airport to the hotel and check in. Usually, hotel rooms are ready after 3:00pm, if you arrive earlier you can leave your luggage at the hotel. Between 10:00-3:00pm a representative will be waiting in the lobby to greet you and answer any questions you might have.
DAY 2: FRIDAY 13 SEPTEMBER - HALF DAY TOUR + SYDNEY HARBOUR CRUISE
In the morning, after breakfast, you will take your half day sightseeing tour. The tour will conclude at the Sydney Running Show. Pick up your bib and explore the stalls before making your own way back to the hotel at your leisure.
In the evening, join our exclusive Sydney Marathon Harbour Cruise with runners from all over the world. For 2 hours you will enjoy the beauty of the harbour as you look back onto the Sydney skyline. The cruise will include substantial canapes and a drink on arrival.
DAY 3: SATURDAY 14 SEPTEMBER - SHAKE-OUT RUN
This morning after breakfast you are welcome to join for a light shake-out run along the harbour. This will be at an easy pace and is a chance to loosen your legs. It will be no longer than 5km (approx. 3 miles). Enjoy the rest of the day your leisure.
Consider booking the BridgeClimb, a hop on hop off pass or even a day tour to experience this wonderful city.
This evening you will enjoy a private pre-race dinner.
DAY 4: SUNDAY 15 SEPTEMBER - RACE DAY
Race day is here! After an early breakfast, make your way to the start line. Our representatives will be in the hotel lobby to provide guidance. After the race, recharge in the recovery zone. Feel welcome to visit us at our exclusive tent, and make this the meet up zone to find your family and friends.
In the afternoon you'll meet up for post race celebrations, saying cheers to all of our runners on an amazing accomplishment!
DAY 5: MONDAY 16 SEPTEMBER - DEPARTURE
Unless you have booked extra nights with us then today is the day you check out of your room and we say thank you for joining us. It’s not goodbye but instead, we’ll see you next time.

TERMS OF SERVICE
SYDNEY MARATHON INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL PACKAGE 2024
- Runners must ensure they can enter Australia to participate in the event, adhering to any required passport or visa regulations.
- Entries can be purchased in conjunction with the package at the time of booking.
- Special entry rate is valid until 31st January 2024.
- It is your responsibility to fill in the details properly while registering for the Sydney Marathon. No refund of entries will be offered for incorrect entries.
- Please read the terms of Participation Agreement on the event website. Your payment confirms that you have read the agreement and have consented for the same. https://sydneymarathon.com/participantagreement/
- We will require a deposit of 50% of the package to block your entry. Deposit payment does not confirm your participation. Your booking will only be confirmed once our partner sends us the confirmation.
- Final payment needs to be done 90 days prior to arrival (Before 14 June 2024).
- All payments not received by the due date will result in cancellation of the booking.
- Deposits are non refundable.
- Within 90 days of travel date the package is non refundable.
